Pittsfield (VT) Peaks Ultra Challenge June 15, 2007

I was also in Vermont last week. Shep and I crewed for Deb at one of her biggest races yet. I got a little time on the bike (towing Shep) and some running (pushing Shep) too.

This race was a true EPIC. It was like 55+ miles with 14,000+ of up and another 14,000 down. The Green Mountains were awesome. We drove a lot of the Killington SR roads, notably, 4 and 100. That brought back a lot of memories from the early 90’s.
She was 1st woman and 3rd overall. Not bad. I think she is coming around. We are running the Mt. Greylock Trail Race (14.5 miles) this Sunday. The finisher awards for Peaks were these fabulous hammers, modified by woodburning to commemorate the race. Very cool. It makes the $10 crit prime check in a white envelope seem worthless.

I wish I could race in Monson, but I’m on Daddy Duty. Art and I rode over to the EH Crit on Tuesday and warmed up with Brian, but we were just out for a spin/commute home from work.
I’m experimenting with a blog of my own. I plan to explore some broader topics, including business and sport.
